Softwood Log Grades

Specifications

• Logs should be from live fresh cut timber with 4 to 6" trim allowance
• Maximum sweep and crook 4" in 16 foot log, proportionately less in shorter logs
• Rot or hole up to 1/3 of scaling diameter allowed, no reduction in grade
• Deduction will be made on footage volume for rot, catfaces, seams, excess sweep and crook
• Old and stained logs will be graded as #2 and #3
• Scaling hours: 7:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., Monday through Thursday
