The Community

We LOVE Our Community!

Pukall Lumber has always felt strongly about giving back to the community that makes us successful. Roger & Mary Pukall created the Pukall Lumber Company Foundation in 1974 to support non-profit groups in the Lakeland area such as volunteer fire & rescue groups, health care organizations, service clubs, wildlife rehabilitators, school groups, the performing arts and many other community organizations. There is no formal application process; requests can be submitted to sue@pukall-lumber.com.

After Mary and then Roger passed away, their daughters set up the Roger & Mary Memorial Scholarship Fund to provide financial assistance to the children or dependents of Pukall Lumber employees for post-secondary education. Up to three $1,000 scholarships are available each year.

Additionally, an annual scholarship is available for a LUHS graduate who plans to train in a Wood Technology or Wood Science Program. The Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin accepts the applications and selects the recipients for each of these scholarship programs.

Most recently, Pukall Lumber gifted $80,000 to Lakeland Union High School in order for the school to revive their building trades program. LUHS has hired an instructor and re-started the Capstone Construction program, which is an intensive, practical experience for students interested in pursuing a career in the construction industry. Students complete all phases of the project from rough framing to finish carpentry, leading to construction of structures such as sheds or garages.
